Breakfast and Rental Car

We have a delicious Scottish breakfast with oat cakes. Greg tries black pudding- yuck.  Olivia still isn't feeling very well, so she naps in the common room while Greg walks to pick up the rental car from the Cairngorm Guest House, which is directly across from the train station we had just walked from a half-hour earlier.

The Cairngorm takes deliveries from an Enterprise car rental shop in Inverness, which is about 45 minutes north.   The car isn't there when Greg gets there, but it arrives shortly after.  The woman who drives the car down is incredibly friendly, and the car is a souped-up diesel 6-speed Ford Focus.   Greg initially has trouble finding reverse (shades of our adventure in Germany) but eventually does and is on his way.
